The Dragon Dragon Lake, the Lake of Five Flowers, the Grassy Lake - only fabulous stories begin to appear in the imagination from the eastern mysteries and romantic names alone. It is no coincidence that the Jiuzhaigou National Park fascinates everyone who has come here at least once a traveler, and beckons to himself again and again. After all, everyone wants to return, even briefly, to a fairy tale or a beautiful dream.
Famous for its beautiful colorful lakes and a lot of rare flora and fauna, the Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve is located in southeast China, in Sichuan Province.
Translated from Chinese, Jiuzhaigou literally means "the valley of nine villages" .This name, of course, is not accidental, in the valley there are really nine villages in which Tibetans live and people of the qiang .Today seven of these villages are inhabited by people, and two villages are not inhabited .In the valley, farming and animal farming are forbidden, so the local people live off state subsidies, and of course, at the expense of tourists coming to the valley .So here it will not be a problem to buy souvenirs, which are products of traditional crafts, or try the local regional cuisine .
What to see
The Jiuzhaigou National Park consists of three valleys: Zhizae, Zzechawa and Shu-zheng .In the valleys there is a beautiful and diverse nature, here there are broad-leaved virgin forests inhabited by birds and animals, some of which (such as panda and golden monkeys) are listed in the Red Book, by fast mountain rivers and majestic waterfalls .But still, one of the main symbols and the main attraction of the Jiuzhaigou National Park is its inestimable beauty the multi-colored lakes, which here are more than a hundred .
The largest lake in the reserve is called Changhai, and is located at an altitude of 3000 meters at sea level. Of course, you can endlessly list the wonderful local lakes, but it's better to come and see everything with your own eyes, namely: Grass lake, Panda lake, Lake of the Sleeping Dragon, Swan Lake or Long Lake (which is more than 2 km long), the Lake of Five Flowers, in which according to the legend, the gods are washed, and their "make-up" stains the lake in an incredible beauty of color.
Another symbol of the Jiuzhaigou National Park is its clean, swift waterfalls, falling down the cliffs and trees. It will be difficult for a tired traveler to resist the temptation to admire the descending streams of water, and forgetting about all worries, plunge into the world of nature, under the measured mesmerizing noise of water.
How to get here
Getting to Jiuzhaigou is not a simple matter. Due to its remoteness and isolation, the park is difficult to access. The traveler who is going to touch the local beauties will have to have patience - the path by bus or car will take about 10 hours of driving along the mountain roads. But this, perhaps, is not the easiest trip worth it - the beauties who are waiting for the stranger to endure the hardships of the way of the wanderer are difficult to convey in words or film.
