Lunar Cookie
When the full moon shines brightly in the night sky, Hong Kong lights up with a mid- autumn. Thousands of lanterns of different shapes, sizes and colors adorn streets and public parks
The festival is an ancient Chinese tradition that celebrates the 14th century uprising against the Chinese occupation of Mongolia. The insurgents wrote a call for insurrection on scraps of paper and baked them in flat cakes, which they smuggled to their compatriots. Today, in honor of this, people eat a special lunar liver - the top of the biscuit is filled with sweet stuffing, for example pasta from lotus seeds or red beans.
