Imatrankoski - without exaggeration the main attraction of Imatra. And although it is not a unique monument of architecture or even a famous memorial (Imatrankoski is called the waterfall, formed during the descent of water from the local HPP), he managed to glorify his town far beyond Finland.

To look at this spectacle, when giant streams of water rush from a height of almost two dozen meters, every season tourists come to crowds. If you believe in history, then in the last century there was already a picturesque waterfall on this place. But then it was created by nature, and after 1920 (when a dam and a hydroelectric station were built here) became, so to speak, manageable.

Water on Imatrankoski, as a rule, is lowered from the end of June to August inclusive, every day at the same time. And this is an ineffable by power and grandeur of the action accompanied by musical compositions, and in the evening a light show is added to it. Presentation on Imantrankoski (by the way, it lasts almost 20 minutes) is also arranged for Christmas and on New Year's Eve.

How does this happen? The daredevils, who miss the thrill, cling to the rope and are allowed into a free flight right above the bubbling streams of water.
