Lutheran Cathedral belonging to the diocese of Mikkeli Evangelic Lutheran Church of Finland is the main church of Kotka, which became the main architectural dominant of the central part of the city . The construction of the main cathedral of Kotka took only two years: it began in 1897 g . and the following year it was completed, at the same time it was sanctified . I must say that Stenbek built his first temples in the then popular Neo-Gothic style, later he reoriented to modernism or Finnish national romanticism . Lutheran Cathedral of Kotka was a transitional stage in his creative activity, embodying elements of both styles .
