Tegel is the international airport of Berlin. The full name is Berlin-Tegel named after Otto Lilienthal. The air harbor is named after an outstanding German engineer and pioneer of aviation. The aerial unit is located in Tegel district of Reinikkendorf administrative district.
The Aero-node started work in 1930, however passenger transportation started only in 1960. Tegel serves as a base for two major airlines - Air Berlin and Lufthansa.
The air terminal complex consists of five terminals (A, B, C, D, E) and a control tower, which is surrounded on all sides by the airfield.
Terminal B is used only for large airport loads. Terminal C mainly accepts Air Berlin flights. Terminal D is important in Tegel, it serves night flights and flights within Germany. Terminal E is the second floor of Terminal D.
It is interesting that the aerial terminal looks like the air port of Cologne-Bonn. Both airports look like a drive in airport, popular in the 60s.
How to get here
Tegel Airport is located near the city center, but there is no metro line nearby. You can get to Berlin by bus or taxi. The most convenient way is to take the TCL bus, which follows to Alexanderplatz through the main streets of the city. The interval of movement is every 10 minutes until 22 pm. At night, the bus runs much less often. There are also buses 109, 128 and X9 that will take you to remote areas of Berlin.

Berlin-Tegel Airport is a good service. There really is almost everything a passenger can need while waiting for his flight. Of course, there is a post office, a medical center, a pharmacy, a lost and found office, parking lots, restaurants and shops.
