The highest minaret in the world, built of bricks, is Kutub Minar in Delhi .The construction of the minaret began in 1199, in honor of commemorating the victory over the Rajput ruler of Delhi .True, the first of the Delhi sultans built only the first floor of the structure, the subsequent sultans built four more floors of the minaret, so that by 1351 the 73 meter building was finally built .The filigree ornaments of the minaret, the Arabic script promising heavenly bliss to the faithful and the infernal torment of all others, were a completely new word in Indian architecture .

According to Muslim laws, the figures of animals and people were not used in the decoration of Qutub-Minar, let alone statues. Not far from Qutub Minar there is another miracle - a seven-meter pillar forged from the meteoric iron in the 4th century BC. Indians believe that touching a sacred artifact is guaranteed to bring happiness.

Kutub Minar is a unique monument of medieval Indo-Islamic architecture. The tallest tower in India, the world's tallest brick minaret, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the Middle Ages, Qutub Minar was considered one of the wonders of the world. The creators of Qutub Minar were undoubtedly brilliant mathematicians, if they produced such plague calculations. They possessed also the rarest artistic taste, so the tower still amazes everyone's imagination, leaving no chance of indifference .... Read the whole review
