Add a review about St. Anne's Monastery in Jerusalem
St. Anne's Monastery is located in the Muslim quarter of the Old City. Its location is chosen not by chance. Under it is a cave, which was once part of the house of the Virgin. The above-ground part dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The most interesting thing is that on the first floor of the monastery there is a Catholic church, the Basilica of St. Anne, built during the Crusades

According to legend, the Virgin Mary was born in the home of Joachim and Anna, who was in the north-eastern part of Jerusalem. However, the exact place of Catholics and Orthodox points differently, and these places are approximately 70 m apart.
