The Eleonsky Savior-Ascension Monastery is a nunnery located on one of the peaks of the Mount of Olives or Mount of Olives (East Jerusalem) . It is located near the chapel of the Ascension, the place where the Ascension of Christ took place . There lives a little less than 50 nuns . According to legend, here was discovered during the excavation the stone on which the Virgin was standing during the greatest event . Also there were traces of mosaic floor of ancient Byzantine churches 6-7 centuries . The community itself was founded in the early 20th century . The building includes the Ascension Cathedral, the Chapel of finding the honest head of John the Baptist, the bell tower, the Archimandrite's house, the Igumen building, the refectory with the church of St. Philaret the Merciful .
