Israel is preparing to receive the Pope Francis I and tens of thousands of pilgrims who are planning to meet Easter in the Holy Land. The Pope will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Chamber of the Holy Supper and the Mount of Olives.
Jerusalem will be flooded with pilgrims from all over the world in the Holy Week and Easter. The main place of celebration for Orthodox and Catholic pilgrims will be the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
The Holy Week starts on April 13, on Palm Sunday. Thousands of believing Catholics and Protestants will come down this day from the Mount of Olives, reproducing the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem.
On April 17, on Holy Thursday, the pilgrims will remember the Last Supper, the apostles' feet and the last hours of the arrest of Jesus.
