The Tower of David in Jerusalem

Russian tourists set another record for the number of trips to Israel - the relevant news was recently shared by the Minister of Tourism Uzi Landau.

As the Israeli official specified, during the first two months of 2014 almost 82 thousand Russian travelers visited the Holy Land, which is 12% higher than the same period a year earlier. Such significant growth could not be prevented either by military conflicts in neighboring countries, or by a decrease in the number of one-day tours from Egypt.

Mr. Landau also recalled that by the end of 2013, Israel had received 603,000 Russian visitors (+3%), which in total added $ 900 million to the local treasury. Thanks to these two indicators, our compatriots were ranked among the most "efficient" tourists: on average, every Russian spends about 1, 5 thousand dollars for one trip to Israel.
