Kazyukas - It is a holiday in honor of the coming of spring and the day of the memory of St. Casimir. It should be noted that the fair dates back to the early 17th century. Even then the Cathedral Square of Vilnius was specially built for the sake of the fair with wooden counters, booths and awnings, where brisk merchants laid out their goods. In the same years, the main attribute of the holiday appeared - the carrot "Heart of Kazyuk."

Symbols of the fair: "kazyuka" - bouquet of dried flowers and plants, clay bells, carrots "Heart of Kazyuka", bagels and bagels.

Here it was possible to buy utensils, baskets, agricultural supplies, clothes, fabrics, toys, products, and much more. But the fair was not only of a commercial and utilitarian nature. Carnival processions and folk festivities were staged on the streets

Alas, wars and many other political events hampered the development of Kazyukas. In some years, the fair was either completely forgotten, or held in very uncomfortable places. But in the 70-80s of the 20th century the event revived and began to attract more and more people. Today, Kazyukas can easily be called a landmark of Vilnius.

Kazyukas has a large scale. The fair takes several main streets and squares in the Old Town: Gedimin Avenue, Cathedral and Town Hall Square, Pilies Street, Barboros Radvilaites and others. More than a thousand artisans take part in it.
