The Museum of Macedonia in Skopje is one of the oldest museums in Macedonia. It was created by combining three metropolitan museums: archaeological, historical and ethnographic. Thus, the Museum of Macedonia has become the main repository of national culture and centuries-old history. The museum's collection is very rich, interesting and informative, it contains several thousand exhibits, including antiquities, works of art, miniatures of Macedonian cities. The main museum of Skopje occupies a huge area of ​​several thousand square meters. Therefore, one can imagine the size of its exhibition area. However, the Museum of Macedonia not only exhibits its collection, but also conducts research activities. In general, this is a fairly solid establishment, in whose staff the best minds of the country work. And that is why we have what we have - the most valuable and largest archive of national wealth.

The museum exposition is divided into thematic blocks . In the historical department, for example, a magnificent collection of values ​​is collected, covering the period from antiquity to our times . The main emphasis is on antiquities found directly on the territory of Macedonia; however, among the exhibits there are also copies brought here . Here you can get acquainted with a large collection of coins, ceramics, household items, weapons and t . d . The collection is built in chronological order and exhibited on a permanent basis under the name "Walk Through the Past" .

In the ethnographic block of the Museum of Macedonia you can admire the national costumes, the traditional interiors of Macedonian houses, objects of work and life - everything that expresses the national color of the people. And among the artistic collection of the museum, the collection of ancient icons has a great value.

The museum has a special department that produces and sells copies of museum exhibits. The Macedonian Museum is located in the historical part of Skopje on the northern coast of Vardara at the end of the Old Market. It is easily accessible from the Macedonia Square, following the Stone Bridge.
