Taman-Negara is the most famous national park in Malaysia, on the territory of which there are wooded plains, mountain peaks and green valleys. Several rivers flow through the reserve. According to one of them, Sungai Tembeling, tourists can get to the park's directorate, in Kuala Tahan. Another route to the park leads through Kuala Koh in Kelantan, on the highway Gua-Musang-Kuala-Krai

How to get there

From Kuala Lumpur, buses and trains run through Jerantut to Kuala Tembeling. From there, the guests, by prior arrangement, take a boat that will deliver directly to Kuala Takhan, to the park's management (3-4 hours on the road, 60 km). Boats from Kuala Tembeling depart daily at 9:00 and 15:00, Fridays at 14:30. The fare is ~ 19 RM one way.

Another option is a night train leaving from Kuala Lumpur at 22:00, which arrives at 1:35 am in Gemas. Here at 2:30 you need to change your train to Kuala Tembeling at 6:00 am

Near the building of the directorate there are two places for the crystallization of salt: Janut Takhan and Janut- Tubing, where elephants and wild buffaloes, tapirs and deer, boars and ti ry. Up to two other such points, Janut-Belau and Janut-Kumbang, you have to walk a day or go on a boat. Here shelters are built where you can stay overnight

Taman-Negara water bodies are home to more than 200 species of fish, mainly from the carp family. In places with good biting house stands, better months for fishing - February-March and July-August. Also in the reserve are over 600 species of birds. The best places to observe them are Kuala Kenyam, Kuala Trengganu and Kuala Tahan.
