Montenegro has two international airports, in Tivat and in the capital of the country - Podgorica . Podgorica International Airport is only 11 km south of the city and is the hub for Montenegro Airlines . With growth the tourist flow to the country turned out that the existing terminal does not cope with its tasks, and in 2006 a new, modern and comfortable terminal for passengers was opened, which is potentially capable of serving 1 million passengers per year. The new terminal building is not only constructed of glass and aluminum, which in itself is interesting, but also differs by innovative solutions: for example, lighting with reflected light.
Infrastructure
The building houses a duty-free zone, a branch Montenegrin Bank, two cafes, a car rental desk, all kinds of kiosks. Near the airport there is paid parking, long-term and short-term. In general, passengers are comfortable here. Simultaneously with the construction of the new terminal, taxiways and lighting of the airfield were improved.
There are several hotels of different price categories in the immediate vicinity of the airport. Of course, this can be very convenient, especially taking into account the fact that around a lot of towns and villages, where you can accommodate comfortably, of no fundamental importance. You can get to the airport on the E80 and E65, which connect most of the cities of the Adriatic coast in Montenegro.
