In Montenegro, two international airports, one of them, the airport of Tivat is located just 4 km from the city center .In Montenegro it is figuratively called "Gates of the Adriatic" .All the year round from here, from the north of the Adriatic coast, daily flights are sent to the Serbian capital Belgrade, and twice a week to Moscow, to Domodedovo .Basically the airport is focused on servicing charter flights that bring tourists to Montenegro from all over the world, including from Russia, so the revival at the airport reigns only during the holiday season .
Characteristic
The airport was built in 1971, by 2006 the passenger traffic reached 451,000 per year. Within an hour the airport is able to serve no more than 6 aircraft. The length of the runway is 2, 5 km, which does not allow to take large aircraft, and the airport itself is small, there are only 11 check-in counters, therefore, in the peak weeks of the season it sometimes accumulates a bit more people than we would like.
Airport Infrastructure
In addition to the services providing flights, passport and customs control, there is a small cafe on the airport territory (catastrophically small in case of flight delay), a duty-free shop, a bank office, a travel agency, a car rental office, a taxi stand for 19 places and bus parking for 10 places, paid parking.
Near the airport there is a comfortable modern hotel Avala Resort & Villas 4 *, and to reach the nearby cities, however, not only nearby, but also most of the cities of the coast can be along the E65 and E80.
