Responds to Elena Kochkina, Unique Cyprus Travel
Northern Cyprus is known for its traditional villages, where the customs and way of life of the village Turks-Cypriots are still preserved. The country has all those features of nature that are inherent in the ecologically clean corners of our planet. North Cyprus is not an industrial place, and emissions to the environment from human activities are minimal or nonexistent.

In North Cyprus there are 2 eco-hotels, in which you can truly experience the atmosphere of the real Turkish Cypriots.

The most famous is the eco-hotel "Nitovikla" (The Nitovikla Garden), which is located in the village of Kumyaly in the area of Bafra. "Nitovikla" is a 3-star hotel, with only 10 rooms. Each room has everything you need for your stay. The hotel rooms are designed in a traditional style.

On the territory of the hotel there is a natural cave in which there is a restaurant, as well as a wine cellar located in a house that is over 300 years old. The hotel has an adult and children's pools. For children it will be interesting to visit the hotel's mini-chicken coop and participate in the collection of eggs.

The owner of the hotel daily conducts various programs for guests, where everyone can try their hand at cooking traditional Cypriot cuisine, baking bread, preparing cheese "hellim," and also participate in harvesting and harvesting for the winter.

There are many hiking trails around the hotel. In the hotel you can rent a bike and ride for fun.

There are 16 temples and chapels in the village of Qumyala. Within 10 minutes drive there are caves in which a rare species of bats live. The wild sandy beach is also a 10-minute drive away. On this beach, from June to the end of September, you can observe the huge sea turtles coming here to lay eggs, and at the end of August there is an opening of the clutches and the release of the turtle in the sea.

The second eco-hotel is located in the village of Bjukkonuk .The Eco Village Bikkonuk hotel is located at the very beginning of the Karpas peninsula conservation area in North Cyprus .The village itself is located on a plain between the sea and the mountains, the distance to the sea is 10 minutes by car .In the village preserved houses built in the traditions of the Cypriots .The technology of construction of such houses has survived to the present day .These are arched buildings, built of special Cypriot yellow stone, which keeps the cold in the summer and warm in the winter .These houses are a symbol of the traditional architecture .

The area around the houses, like in all villages, is used by Cypriots for growing vegetables and fruits, for drying food for the winter, for cooking and baking bread - special bread ovens stand in every village courtyard and are heated by firewood. Also in all yards there are resting places in the shade of plants, curling on special iron constructions - pergolas ("pergola" or "talvar"). Usually it is a vine, and in the autumn huge bunches of sweet grapes hang from them and please everyone with their extraordinary beauty.

Accommodation in this eco-hotel is provided in these houses, which are not so many. The houses are equipped with everything necessary.

The village of Bewkonuk offers its guests to take part in the collection of olives and the production of olive oil, which you can then take with you. Also in the way of village life is the walking of cattle, which takes place in the cleanest areas of the island - protected areas. All visitors of the eco-village, at their request, will have the opportunity to walk along with the shepherds and herds of sheep along the brightly blooming fields of Northern Cyprus, leaving an unforgettable experience for memory.

For those who like to learn how to make furniture and household utensils, you will have the opportunity to try it yourself. There is a small metal workshop on the territory of the village.

In a store called Delcraft, there are Cypriot products that they use or used earlier in their daily lives, as well as a wide selection of home-made products: honey, jams and olive oil. All products and products are made only from environmentally friendly raw materials and by the hands of the villagers themselves.

If you visit any of these hotels, you will have the opportunity to be in the untouched corner of the earth and live in that village life, always surrounded by the beauty of a pristine nature.
