Grottoes on the coast of the Algarve

In Portugal they want to create the world's largest artificial reef, the depth of which will be about 30 meters. Especially for this purpose two decommissioned ships of the Portuguese navy were recently sank near the coast of the Algarve, near Portimão: the corvette Oliveira and Carmo and the patrol ship Zambezé. They, together with two more vessels, will become the basis for this reef.

The question is, why do we need this reef? In its place, in time, an underwater park will be opened for divers. The reef project "The Renaissance of the Ocean" is non-commercial, but its authors plan that the underwater park will be visited by about two thousand divers per year.
