Serpukhovsky Visotsky Monastery
The monastery was founded in 1374 with the blessing of Sergius of Radonezh, and received its name from the nicknamed "high" hill, on which it was located. Vladychny monastery
Vvedensky Vladychny monastery is located on the opposite bank of the Vysotsky Monastery of the banks of the Nara. The temple was founded in 1360 and almost completely rebuilt by Boris Godunov in the early XVII century, and therefore is an outstanding example of Godunov architecture. In Soviet times, the monastery was closed and on its territory there was an aerodrome, and then a military school. Monastic life resumed in the church only in 1995.
The Vladychny monastery includes: a cathedral in the name of the introduction of the Blessed Virgin, churches in the name of St. George the Victorious, in the name of Theodosius of Ancyra, in the name of St. Alexis.

Serpukhov History and Art Museum
The museum is the richest in the Moscow region of the collection of monuments of Russian, Western European and Oriental art, numbering more than 40 thousand exhibits .The museum is located in the mansion of merchants Maraev, whose collection was the basis of the exposition .In the part devoted to Russian art, the works of Aivazovsky, Shishkin, Savrasov, Levitan, Polenov, Burliuk, Falk and other remarkable Russian artists are presented .The West-European section of the museum is a painting of the Flemish, Dutch, French and other schools of the 16th-19th centuries .A unique collection of porcelain, weapons, Italian marble sculpture ...
