Symbol and the main attraction of the city - bell tower of the Resurrection Cathedral . The second highest in Russia from separate belfries (the first - the bell flax of the Peter and Paul Fortress of St. Petersburg), it was laid in the beginning of the XIX century by the Italian architect Maricelli . After the construction of the third tier the structure collapsed, the author of the project refused to bring it to the end, and it was done by the local masters . In 1891, on the birthday of Emperor Nicholas II, another one of the Shuya legends was raised to the bell tower - a huge bell weighing 1270 poods .

The architecture of prerevolutionary Shui, despite the efforts made to exterminate it, is nevertheless traced in the guise of the city. On the east side of Lenin Square there are preserved shopping streets, and from the south - the building of the former city council, which now occupies the museum of local lore. In the neighboring Union Square - one of the most remarkable merchant buildings of Shui - Kiselevskaya hospital, as well as the Intercession Church, laid in the XVII century.

Museums
Shuya Local History Museum (Lenin Square, 2). In addition to everyday objects of Shuyan (costumes, porcelain, coins), the museum displays a curious zoological collection - more than 500 bird eggs. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the famous native of the Shuysky district - Konstantin Balmont. The museum is open daily from 10.00 to 17.00 (except Mondays and last Friday of each month).
