By the age of 40, Franz Preshern could no longer cope with alcoholism on his own. Despite this, his poems were beautiful. In 1844 the poet wrote Zdravitsa, which many years later became the basis of the Slovenian hymn.

Franz Preshern is the most famous Slovene poet, the founder of the literary Slovenian language. He proved to the whole world that Slovene is as beautiful as many other languages. Preshern was able to convince the public, who believed that his native language is too rude and ugly. At that time, it was believed that poetry can only be written in the languages of Western Europe, and all the rest are unworthy of poetry. It is worth noting that Preshern was very well educated and knew the German language very well, where he wrote no less beautiful works.

Portrait of Franz Preshern can be seen on a coin of 2 EUR value. A little lower is the inscription "God's blessing for all nations" - a line from the Slovenian anthem, based on the poem by Presherne. This coin design was developed in 2007 when Slovenia moved to EUR. Before that, the portrait of the poet adorned the national currency - a bill in 100 SIT.

He was born in 1800 in the village of Vrba and spent all his childhood in his farm. The mother of the future poet dreamed that the son was a priest, and sent the teenager to study. However, Presherna did not attract religion at all, and after graduation he left for Vienna to become a lawyer. The young man hoped to become an official and work in Laibach (Ljubljana).

At the age of 24 Franz wrote his first poem and three years later his works were published . Interestingly, Preshern instantly received recognition and became a famous poet . However, in another case, Presherne was disappointed . He was educated, but could not get a job because he was not a German . Slovenia at that time was part of Austria . After a while the poet was lucky - he got a job as an attorney at law . Young the poet was extremely difficult to cope with the burden of all sorts of problems . In addition, a few years later he lost loved ones and experienced unhappy love . By the age of 40, Franz Preshern could no longer cope with alcoholism himself . Despite this, his poems were excellent . In 1844 the poet wrote "Zdravitsu", which many years later became the basis of the hymn of Slovenia .

Many people wrote Presherna poems by hand and thus gave them distribution. The matter is that the censorship in Austria allowed to print not all works.

Three years before his death Preshern received permission to open his law firm and moved to the city of Kranj. It would seem that life began to improve. The poet rejoiced that he could put his two sons on his feet. But, alas, at that time, Presherne was already terminally ill. He died from cirrhosis of the liver on February 8, 1849.

Today Preserve in Slovenia prepares long before the start of the holiday - a lot of interesting exhibitions and concerts are organized

Slovenia is proud of Preshern who showed the whole world how beautiful the Slovenian can be language . It is interesting that the first wreath of sonnets - a special form of versification - created exactly Preshern . The first letters of each of 15 sonnets formed in acrostics "To Julia Primich" . In this girl Preshern was in love . Moreover, the beauty rejected the poet . Worth a margin one's, that the crown of sonnets Preshern created even before it did in Russia . first such works in Russian translation became Preseren's poems, which could make a classical scholar Theodore E. Korsch .
