The local cathedral is considered a visiting card not only of Girona, but, perhaps, of the whole coast of the Costa Brava. During its existence (and the temple was built around 1312), the cathedral was repeatedly rebuilt. And today it is a mixture of many architectural styles. To get inside the cathedral, tourists need to overcome a large staircase consisting of 90 steps. According to the belief, one level of the temple is one sin. Thus, visiting this place, you would like to get rid of the severity of their offenses.

Inside the cathedral there is a special atmosphere, which can be characterized as spirituality and greatness. Next to the altar is the throne of the bishop and the organ. In the courtyard of the Cathedral is possible to contemplate the sculpture, which for its awesome view called "Cry Witch".
But most importantly, why tourists are so eager to visit the cathedral, it is a museum. Here is a unique collection of medieval works of art (paintings, icons, sculptures and even a whole wardrobe from the cloaks of the cathedral attendants). But most tourists, as a rule, gather around the so-called treasury of the cathedral. Here you can see icons, crosses, chests, cups made of gold and silver and studded with precious stones.
The cathedral and the museum work depending on the tourist season. Between April and October, the temple complex is open from 10.00 to 20.00. Starting from November to March inclusive, the schedule of work is as follows: from 10.00 to 19.00. Tour of the cathedral on the Costa Brava and the museum will cost 7 EUR including use of an audio guide. Entrance tickets for students and those tourists who are 65 years old, cost 5 EUR. Children up to the age of seven are admitted free of charge.
The cathedral is closed to visitors on New Year, Christmas and Easter. And finally. Going on a tour, take care of the dress code. The short shorts and open shirts will not be allowed into the temple
