Tourism revenues in Tunisia - the strategic sector of the economy - fell by 5.7% in the first trimester compared to the same period in last year - this is the official result published on Wednesday by the Tunisian Tourism Office.
During the first trimester of Tunisia, slightly less than 850,000 tourists visited, half of whom are from neighboring Libyans. The hotels recorded an amount of 2, 2 million spent nights, which corresponds to a decrease in the indicator by 1, 7%. The decrease in the flow of tourists is mainly attributed to the French (-17%) and the Swiss (-15%), while German and English tourists resumed their trips in this direction with an increase of 3, 7% and 10, 6% respectively.
