Incomes from tourism - the strategic sector of the economy of Tunisia - will not be able to this year to reach its pre-revolutionary level. Accordingly, the goals set by the government to increase the tourist flow are also being questioned.

Tunisian Finance Minister said that the tourism sector will not be able to overcome the government's 7 million tourists this time. "The 2013th started with extremely low rates, and at the moment we are barely reaching last year's level," the minister concluded.

According to current forecasts, the revenues from the tourist business will be 15% lower than in 2010 - the last year of the president's rule Zin el-Abidine Ben Ali. Nevertheless, the Minister does not lose hope for the summer season: "in the event that the security situation is stable, we can count on the final figure for the tourist flow of 6.5 million people." In his turn, the Minister of Tourism of Tunisia specified that during the first five months, 22% of tourists spent nights compared to the pre-revolutionary level did not get to the hotels in the country.
