The authorities of Istanbul decided to raise fares for travel in the metro-bass due to its overcrowding. The fare will rise only during rush hours, when public transportation becomes a real test. On average, about 800 thousand passengers a day use the metbas.
The increase in tariffs is quite expected caused a wave of criticism and negativity on the part of passengers who believe that this is not a solution to the problem, as working people and students are forced to travel on business during peak hours.
However, the rise in the cost of travel is not the only measure that the government has taken. Currently, the city authorities are considering the possibility of buying two-story railroad cars or wagons with doors on both sides.
Currently, the fare on the metrobase is 2, 15 TRY for adults and 1, 10 TRY for students.
