Skyscrapers located in the Zeytinburnu area, in the European part of Istanbul, decided to demolish, as they spoil the view of the city center. The Supreme Administrative Court of Turkey came to this decision.
Judges believe that with the appearance of skyscrapers, the preservation of the historical view of Istanbul from the shores of the Bosporus was threatened. It is decided to demolish 3 residential buildings that rise behind the minarets of the mosque of Sulaymaniyah. The court ruled to destroy 3 residential buildings of 27, 32 and 37 stories high.
It should be noted that conflicts over the skyscrapers arose at the construction stage in 2011. Then the local residents, dissatisfied with the construction of skyscrapers, organized protest rallies and demonstrations. Then the Prime Minister of the country made a proposal to make the buildings lower. However, residential high-rises were built according to the original plan, and all the apartments in them were successfully sold out.
Now the owners of skyscrapers are forced to demolish the skyscrapers by a court decision.
