This tower appeared on the site of modern Antalya in the second century of our era. The tower is a monument of Roman architecture. It can be found in the southeast of the famous Kaleici quarter, near the Karaalioglu park.
The tower looks like a huge drum of brick-red-brown color. It is in a square base and has grown almost 14 meters. It is believed that this foundation is even older, it could appear in the Hellenistic period. Khydyrlyk, standing on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, used to play the role of a lighthouse and a fortress. So to speak, pointed out the road and protected from the enemy.
Entrance to the tower - from the eastern facade of the building. You can get to the top by a narrow dangerous staircase. Judging by the descriptions, earlier Khidyrlyk had not a flat roof, as now, but a pointed roof, which was demolished during the Byzantine Empire. A square brick shaped stone inside the tower may have been a tomb.
