After an unsuccessful attempt to impose sanctions on Russia, representatives of the EU countries drew attention to Ukraine and its current power. Now Brussels is considering the possibility of abolishing visas for Ukrainians. It is assumed that Ukrainians with biometric passports will be able to enter Europe.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that such passports are not issued at the moment, but the decree, in which the form of the new document is approved, has already been signed. Thus, new passports may appear in Ukrainians as early as this year.
It is also noted that the new passport will not be issued to those citizens of Ukraine who have a Russian passport. In addition, residents of the Crimea, many of whom exchanged Ukrainian passports for Russian, will be able to obtain a visa only in Ukraine, since the European Union does not recognize the accession of the peninsula to Russia.
