Two of the largest Cypriot banks, Bank of Cyprus and Popular Bank, imposed a limit on the cashing of money at ATMs because of which daily you can now withdraw no more than 100 EUR. The relevant decision was made on Sunday by the Central Bank of Cyprus.
According to Interfax, earlier on Thursday Popular Bank management set a daily limit of 260 EUR due to the increased demand for cash. The representative of the bank said that the limit will be lifted only after the opening of banking institutions scheduled on Tuesday, or after confirmation of information on receiving emergency financing from the European Central Bank.
