Due to the reduction in state support, Cyprus Airways is on the verge of bankruptcy. Only last year the carrier suffered 55, 8 million EUR of losses, which the authorities of Cyprus will not be able to cover from the federal budget due to the crisis prevailing in the country.
The authorities see three possible scenarios: close the flights now, in the autumn, after the end of the season, or try to still retain Cyprus Airways. The intermediate option is to wait until the company is liquidated until the fall - it's unlikely: passengers are reluctant to buy tickets for the carrier's flights, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, and the receipt of funds from ticket sales is drastically reduced, so half-measures are unsuitable in this situation.
