The number of Russians visiting the resorts of Cyprus continues to increase, despite the news about the aggravated financial crisis and impartial stories with the freezing of foreigners' bank accounts.

According to the statistical service of Cyprus, last September the island was visited by over 108 thousand Russian travelers - it is 40% higher than the same month a year earlier (in September 2012 this figure stood at around 77 thousand people). In parallel with the number of our compatriots, the overall tourist flow to the country also increased: from January to September, almost 2 million foreigners rested on the island (+3, 3% to last year's mark).

Recall that the Cypriot authorities are making a serious bet on the development of the tourism industry: according to the results of last year, travelers brought the local economy almost 2 billion euros, which is expressed in 10, 5% of the country's gross domestic product.
