Cyprus Vineyards

Not every traveler who resides in Cyprus knows that several wine routes are laid on the island, allowing not only to enjoy wine tasting, but also to get acquainted with the traditions and customs of the local population. The most popular routes are:

1. Kilada Diarizu. The path to the wine valley of Diarizos lies along the river of the same name. This route allows travelers not only to take part in tasting local wine producers, but also enjoy the magnificent natural scenery. Separately it is worth noting Mavro - a local grape variety, from which pink wine is made.

2. Vuni Panagias - Ambelitis. This route runs through small Cypriot villages. During the tour, travelers will be able to try among others light white wine from Xinisteri, as well as dark red from Marateftiko variety.

3. Commandaria. The main feature of the route, which follows through 14 villages, is, of course, the tasting of the same wine. In his turn, participants will be able to get acquainted not only with the centuries-old culture of the production of the Commandaria, but also visit the castle of the Middle Ages Kolossi.

Of course, that travelers should not forget about the annual wine festival, which takes place in September in the capital of Cyprus Limassol.
