On the Finnish roads, the maximum permissible speed was reduced due to the onset of the winter period. Now on most roads it will be possible to go by road with a speed not exceeding 100 km / h. In summer, a speed of up to 120 km / h is allowed. In some sections of the road, which could be driven at a speed of up to 80 km / h in the summer, a maximum speed of 60 km / h is now allowed.

Such measures allow to significantly reduce the risk of road accidents. It is also worth noting that Finnish traffic police officers are extremely harsh for the slightest violations of traffic rules, therefore those who are planning to travel in Finland by car need to be extremely careful.

Winter speed limits on Finnish roads will be in effect until March 2015
