At the annual fair in the center of Helsinki, which has been held in the city for more than 300 years, the fish can be bought directly from boats. Here they sell as fresh fish, and all sorts of canned food. Especially much in the sale of Baltic herring, since in honor of this particular fish called the fair (Silakkamarkkinat). Salaka here is represented in completely different variations: there is even in marinated with such unusual ingredients as juniper needles, mustard or mountain ash.
In addition to fish at the fair, you can buy fresh bread and various artisans' products, mainly knits: socks, scarves , sweaters. The fair takes place at the Market Square and lasts until October 11, 2014
