In the main square of Rimini there are many interesting monuments of architecture. The buildings that come here refer to different epochs. But all together they look harmonious.

On the square there are three palaces - the Palace of Commons, the Starosta and the medieval assembly. Most of all got to "communities". This building collapsed because of earthquakes, as well as during the bombing of World War II. Also worth noting is the fountain "Pinya", or "Shishka". It is made of white marble and has three levels in the idea of the rings. At the top of the fountain is a spruce cone - it is a symbol of the independence of the Roman Empire. Until the city had a water pipeline, Shishka was the only source of drinking water. By the way, water is still flowing here.

Near the fountain there is a monument to Pope Paul Fifth. Although the residents argue, to whom he is really dedicated. During the war with Napoleon, the townspeople were cut off from the monument to the tiara and replaced by a plate, fearing for the fate of the Pope. So from the pontiff he turned into Saint Gaudenzia, the patron of Rimini. Later the monument was rebuilt, but the people still argue who is standing in front of the fountain.

Near the square there is one gastronomic landmark - the fish market. Here they have been trading since the 18th century. Until now, the square has preserved the stone counters of merchants. In the mornings, except Sundays, connoisseurs of fresh delicious seafood come here. And on the market you can buy good souvenirs.

Piazza Cavour - one of the largest and most beautiful squares in the city of Rimini, rather its historical center. The very center of the city is very small, therefore it takes only a couple of minutes to walk from one area to another. In the center of the square Cavour is the famous fountain "Shishka", they say you can drink water (and you can drink water from the fountain in many Italian cities), we have not tried. Not far from the fountain monument to Paul 5. I liked that there are many shops around the perimeter of the square and you can sit and see .... Read full review

A favorite place for evening walks of residents and visitors of the city - from the square of Cavour in the heart of the city to the arch of Emperor Augustus. In this place, a pedestrian zone, restricted by road signs, to which only policemen who are looking after the order come in. Therefore, the human flows are moving chaotically simultaneously in all directions.
A lot of young people and pensioners, all day, in the evening they are joined by the working part of the population. From the fountain Pinya drink water and pigeons and people. In the pedestrian zone, many ... Read full review
