Galichitsa National Park - a real outlet for tourists who came to Macedonia from the bustling metropolises . Here you also have beautiful nature with unique and only here flowers and trees, and a lot of historical and ethnographic sights, and which is important - active and diverse holidays . Galichitsa National Park is located about 25 km from Ohrid and 50 km from Rena (for more information on how to get there, read below) . Park is located between two the other lakes of Macedonia - Ohridskiy and Prepoy . And this is another reason to visit Galichitsa . The park owes its name to the eponymous mountain, though, by the way, it has several peaks, the highest of which is the two-thousand-meter Magaro .
Despite its untouched and unique nature, the Galichitsa National Park is well equipped for active recreation of tourists . Here there are convenient, paved trails for backpackers, as well as for those who prefer cycling . The park has a huge area (more than 20 thousand . ha), but this does not frighten tourists who decided to travel or cross the Galichitsu ne shkom . The fact is that almost two dozen villages are located on the territory of the national park, the residents of which always greet tourists with cordiality and offer them refreshments and lodging for the night .
Perhaps the main attraction of the Galichitsa National Park - the monastery of St. Naum (it is located 30 km from Ohrid, on the shore of the same name Ohrid lake). The medieval cloister attracts tourists not only with its preserved shrines and architecture of the 10th century, but also springs, of which there are nearly 45 pieces. In the national park of Halychyna there are a lot of natural attractions . So, here you should visit the caves called Volya, Samotska Dupka and Naumova cave . In the National Park you can observe and such an amazing phenomenon of nature as karst fields . There are altogether four of them in Galichitsa . Of course, you can go on studying the national park yourself, but it is better to use the help of local guides . They can be found both in Ohrid and in Rese e and villages that are located in the territory of the Galichitsa National Park . For fans to tickle the nerves and for those who want to view Galicitsa from the air, there is a special entertainment in the park - paragliding .
You can get to the park, as mentioned above, from Ohrid and Resen. At the first variant it is necessary to follow on a line № 501 (time in a way about half an hour). If you go from Resen, you should follow the lines No 503 and 504 (the journey time will take more than one hour).
