The house located in the Mexico City area of Coyoacan, though not for long, was the refuge of Lev Trotsky, who fled the Soviet Union. Here passed the last months of the life of a famous revolutionary, here he was killed in 1940 by order of the NKVD.
In 1990 the house became a museum. Today, there is an exposition dedicated to Trotsky's work, his works, Trotsky literature and other equally valuable historical documents are kept.
Lev Trotsky turned his house into a real fortress: he knew that sooner or later he would be killed. But the iron shutters, double walls and police patrol never saved his life. A mortal blow was inflicted by an agent of the NKVD, who had infiltrated the revolutionist's entourage. The grave of Lev Trotsky is in the courtyard of the house
