The Menara Gardens
Marrakesh, Ain MezouarTired of long walks along the noisy and crowded Marrakech, tourists find rest, peace and quiet when visiting the gardens of Menard (Jardin de la Menara). This is a very pleasant place to relax in Morocco, located outside the Medina.
You can endlessly wander through the narrow inner courtyards and streets of Medina (the old part of the city), walk along its mighty walls or ramparts, enjoy the beauty of the ancient mosques of the city, the entrance to which is allowed exclusively to Muslims, to relax in the serene gardens of Majorelle .Here everything looks very, very exotic and picturesque .In the shade of olive, orange, palm trees, surrounding mosques and palaces of Marrakech, you can escape from the scorching sun, in the courtyards gurgle fountains .It is difficult to imagine that this beautiful oasis is separated from the lifeless desert of the Sahara only by mountains .
The main attractions of Marrakech are located in Medina. The square of Djema El Fna, or "the area of the dead", on which the criminals were executed earlier, is the largest African square. Today it is the place of all meetings, in the morning deserted, and in the evening - crowded. There is a brisk trade, many musicians, cafes, snake charmers, beggars and tourists. Behind the square is the largest Berber market.
From here on the wagon you can get to the palm grove or to Menara - a building with green tiles, surrounded by a giant pond. Previously, it was the summer residence of the Sultan and his family. The 12th-century Menara Gardens is a favorite vacation spot for city dwellers in extreme heat.
In Marrakech is the largest mosque, Koutoubia (1150), with an exceptionally beautiful 65-meter minaret that adorns the city - the oldest of the three remaining large Almohad minarets in the world.
Very interesting are the recently discovered tombs of the Saadi dynasty of the 16th century. In three rooms of tombs, trimmed with cedar wood, stucco molding and polychrome tiles, the souls of some sixty members of the dynasty settled. In the territory soldiers and employees are buried. There are always a lot of tourists here.
Whatever the route of the Marrakesh walks: deserts and sand dunes, or Bahia's palace, or the bazaars, or Ali-Ben-Yusef, the school's largest school in North Africa (16th century), there is, without a doubt, always a great many impressions. @
