Add feedback about Madurodam park

Park Madurodam (also known as Madurodam) is rightfully considered one of the most popular entertainment of The Hague. Madurodam is a Dutch city in miniature, scale 1:25. Opened in 1952, the town developed, expanded, and now it is a whole park, which can be viewed from the side. Agree - quite an interesting sight.

The park was named in honor of George Maduro, a Jewish student who actively participated in the Netherlands resistance movement and distinguished himself during the Battle of The Hague, and in 1945 died in Dachau.

The history of the park is quite interesting .A certain Mrs. Boon van der Starp was a member of the foundation that founded a sanatorium for tuberculosis students, where they could not only receive the necessary treatment, but also continue to study .Rehabilitation required money that the fund did not have, and then Mrs. van der Starp heard about the miniature park in Beaconsfield, in the UK .The park brought a lot of money, and a significant part was annually donated to the needs of the London hospital .Mrs. van der Starp discussed the project with the parents of George Maduro, who made the initial contribution necessary to create a park .

About 4 km of the railway was laid through Madurodam.

The motto of the park was "City with a smile." Princess Beatrix, then a schoolgirl, was promoted to Mayor Madurodam. Becoming a queen, Beatrix resigned as mayor, and since then a new tradition has arisen-to designate someone from the Student Council as ruler of Madurodam, for which the higher schools nominate each year.

The level of realism in a miniature park is off scale. Many small Dutch people can be seen on the streets of this town, and depending on the weather they are differently dressed: in summer - in T-shirts, and when it gets colder - in sweaters and jackets.

In general, Madurodam's format is a mini-city, but you can see quite a variety of landscapes. This is the Hague Binnenhof, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the port of Rotterdam, traditional pile houses, tulip fields, and windmills.

In Madurodam, there are only about 50,000 miniature lanterns.

In 2011, due to the dying interest of the public to the park, a large-scale renovation project was implemented .After it, three thematic zones appeared in Madurodam: "Water as a friend and as an enemy", "Historical cities" and "The Netherlands as a source of inspiration for the whole world" .Each zone has its own characteristics - from light shows to music .In the park there were small bridges with a lifting mechanism working on coins, plants, a fire-torn oil tanker .Visitors at the entrance receive cards with chips that can be used to launch video presentations on small TV sets installed in different locations of the park .

The level of realism in a miniature park is off scale. Madurodam is designed to reflect the real life in the Netherlands, so more and more emigrants are appearing among its inhabitants recently.

It is estimated that mini-cars that travel by models Madurodam, annually pass about 14 thousand miles. This number is approaching the average for the Dutch who own this car.

Plus, the special charm of Madurodam lies in its interactivity. Visitors can independently manage the dam barrier in Oosterlscheld, load containers in the port of Rotterdam, take off with an airplane in Shiphol or make a bid at FloraHolland's floral auction.

Want to feel like Gulliver, go to this amazing park in the open air, it will be interesting to both adults and children.
