The authorities of Norway decided to ban the use of petrol or diesel cars as taxis. The new rule will come into force from the beginning of 2015
Thus, from the beginning of next year, Norwegian taxis will be forced to purchase cars only with electric or hybrid engines, as well as cars with hydrogen plants.
Deputies note that the innovation will not be extend to taxis purchased before 2015 and will only be relevant for large cities. The Norwegian authorities encourage the benefits of all Norwegians who choose cars that do not harm the environment. At present, about 2, 5 million cars are traveling along the roads of the Scandinavian country, 26 thousand of which do not cause damage to nature.
By 2020, the authorities of Norway plan to completely ban the use of cars on gasoline and diesel.
