4 Norwegian workers accidentally destroyed a thousand-year-old monument

The subcontractor accidentally demolished a thousand-year cultural monument in the construction of a road in the north of Norway, in the Nordland region. The workers cleared the way to the city of Steigen and unknowingly overturned the six-meter stone that was on their way.

Later the workers were surprised to learn that this stone had been in its place for more than a thousand years. Now the subcontractor will have to be explained in court. Turning over the stone, the workers divided it into three parts:

Director of Cultural Protection of the region Egil Murud stated: "This is very tragic. The stone monument is a very popular monument to Steygen. He stood on the road for several centuries. I do not understand how it was possible to break this stone. "

" We must do everything possible to bring the stone back into place, "said Steigen Mayor Asl Schroeder. The head of the city also noted that the stone was the main attraction of the region.
