A huge area of ​​picturesque Peruvian nature is enclosed in the Huascarán National Park, located on the White Cordillera. Here you will find the highest mountain peaks in Peru: Huascaran, Uandu and Alpamayo, as well as amazing vegetation attractions: Puja Raimondi and the flute tree.

Touch the burning surface of Pastoruri glacier, 70 km south of Huaraz - temptation, with which it is impossible to fight. At the foot of Mount Huaskaran, Lianganuko Lake (Huascarán) and, of course, the famous hot springs of Monterrey. They are located 5 km north of Huaraz.

If you look into the town of Callejon de Konchukos, south-east of Huaras, you can see the archaeological complex Chavin de Guantar, interesting because once there was an important center holding ceremonies of the ancient Chavin culture. Look at a colossal monolithic boulder in one of the underground galleries. He is called Lanzon and has a height of 4, 53 m.

Another jewel of the White Cordillera is Cordillera Huayhuash, located at its southern end. The impregnable peaks of Mount Yerupach are washed by the waters of Lake Konopak, all of their grandeur and inaccessibility emphasizing their importance to the region.

How to get there

You can take a bus ride every day from Lima to Huaraz, it takes 8 hours. You can also get to Trujillo, the journey time is 10 hours
