Add a review about Sipan

The Shrine of the Lord Sipan is located in the Archaeological Complex of Wakah Rahad in the northern coastal part of Peru, 35 km south-east of Chiclayo. The complex was intended for carrying out rituals and ceremonies for bringing the gods of victims, becoming the abode of the souls of the overlord and eight other people. Elements of a rich garment of a crowned person have survived: beautiful beads, breastplates, earrings in the ears and nose, headdresses, bracelets and wands. Immediately there were found the burials "Priest", "Old Lord Sipan."

You can find out more about the life of the ruler and admire the artifacts found during excavations, in Lambayeque, 15 km from Chiclayo, in the halls of the treasure museum of the lord Sipan (Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipán). This is the most important museum in America. The excursion starts at the top, third level, where the entrance to the building is going along the ramp, which completely copies the device of the ancient temples of the Mochica culture.

Also an entertaining adventure will be a visit to the "ghost town" in the town Zaña, where the remains of the former main church, the monastery of St. Agusta, the church of St. Francisco and the church of La Merced are located
