How to get here
From Lima to Lake Titicaca can be reached in several ways:
- 42 hours by bus to Puno (25 USD)
- by plane to Cuzco, and from there either an hour by plane to Juliaca (50-100 USD), or 10 hours by Andean Explorer (20 USD economy), which comes to the very center of Puno

Special attention should be paid to the funeral towers of Silustani with burial places of local leaders of the Inca period, Takile Island of knitting men, Textile Museum, Amantani Island with the temples of Pachamama and Pachatata, located at an altitude of 4200 m, the high-mountain village of Chukito with the church of Santo Domingo.
Puno is the folk capital of Peru and, in combination, the main port city, located on the south-western shore of Titicaca. Just 20 km south of Puno lies the ancient port city of Tiahuanaco, which towers 30 meters above the lake.
