A bit of history

Once upon a time, in the place of the Slavic fortress, a city arose, named it Kolobrzeg, which in Russian means "near the shore" .It is located on the shore of the Baltic Sea, not very affectionate, but very clean and beautiful .In fact, it is one of the oldest Polish cities .Kolobrzeg remembers many dramatic events, many rulers and candidates for the board .In the old days, from the 7th century onwards, salt springs are known, which are numerous in the vicinity of the city .The salt was evaporated and taken out to Scandinavia and Western Europe by sea. .It was the export of salt that allowed the city to become rich and prosperous .

At the end of the 19th century, there was built on the beach a spa house, an impressive building in the style of the German Renaissance. The spa house has become a perfectly equipped and very comfortable sanatorium for 1000 people. It was here that in 1911 the most prestigious International Medical Congress was held, which recognized Kolobrzeg as a resort of the highest category, which attracted the attention of many people to it. Between World Wars, up to 50,000 people a year rested here, and the resort was called the "Pearl of the Baltic".

During the Second World War, Kolobrzeg was turned into a huge hospital, and fighting for it at the end of the war turned the city into solid ruins. In 1945, Kolobrzeg was returned to Poland, and a very difficult period of recovery and healing of the city began: by 1950, there were 7,000 inhabitants in the city against pre-war 30,000. Only by the 1960s the population began to grow, large-scale construction and the revival of Kolobrzeg as a resort

The promenade along the seashore is not only beautiful, but, due to the specificity of the local microclimate, it is a natural inhalator: this is facilitated by pure sea air saturated with mineral substances, in combination with intense solar radiation.

Beaches

Today it is the most popular resort of the central part of the Baltic Sea, similar to similar European ones. Conditions for rest and recovery are ideal here. On the 12-kilometer sandy beach there is a place for everyone, and throughout its length the beach is picturesque and equipped: campers can take advantage of sun loungers, umbrellas, rental of sports equipment and equipment for water sports, numerous bars and cafes.
