A bit of history
As a resort village, Vistula is known from the middle of the 19th century. Traditionally, prominent Polish writers gathered here for recreation and creativity, in particular, Vladislav Reimont and Boleslaw Prus lived systematically here. Attracted them not only pleasant in all respects the atmosphere of the resort, but also a kind of local dialect, which includes a lot of Old Polish words.
Complex development of the slopes of Yazhembata, Cherkhli and Bukova began in the 60s of the last century. Here there were boarding houses, which looked very avant-garde for those years. In 1962, Vistula received the status of a city, and thanks to serious investments in the development of tourism, it became not only the largest resort in the Silesian Beskydy, but also one of the most attractive among the Poles and the inhabitants of Europe.
The Vistula route
There is a resort from four districts, each of them has its own specifics and its advantages. To find the most suitable for your level of skiing, it is worthwhile to contact specialists. They will also help beginners "get up" on skis, teach numerous nuances and secrets of successful skating.
Areas of skiing: Tsienkuva, Stozheka, Soshuv and Jawornik. The main "axis" of the center of Tsenkow is two parallel 1,000-meter long rope towers. The total length of the trails here exceeds 3 km, the height difference is 540 m.
The Skotzek ski area is known for its slalom-giant track with a descent time measurement system (~ 2 PLN per descent).
Soshuv is famous for the most interesting trails. For example, a highway near a large lift that turns sharply in front of the Na Soszowie camp site and then rises to the top along the Polish-Czech border.
