Transportation
From João Paulo II airport you can get to the city center by taxi or by renting car.

In the past it was a rich port city stretching along the southern coast of the island. Since then, Ponta Delgada has preserved many churches and rich mansions. The museum of Carlos Machado, located in the former monastery of St. André, presents the development of fishing and agriculture in the region for centuries.
