The oldest Pushkin Museum of Russia dates back to 1879. Today, there are the richest collections that have been collected for many decades: iconographic, memorial, pictorial, historical and household materials of the Pushkin era, as well as paintings, drawings and sculptures of masters of the 19th and 20th centuries. Not limited to the life and work of the great poet, the museum complex became a collection of the widest range of materials of Russian history and culture of the 18-19 centuries.
The All-Russian Pushkin Museum consists of six museums:
- The Pushkin museum-apartment and the literary-monographic exposition "Life and work of Alexander Pushkin", which are located in the main building on the embankment. Moika, 12.

- The Pushkin museum-villa
- Museum-apartment of Nekrasov
- Derzhavin Museum-Estate.

Museum-apartment of A. S. Pushkin
In this house, Alexander Sergeevich, mortally wounded in a duel, died on January 29, 1837. Now the museum is a poet's apartment reconstructed on the basis of historical documents with things belonging to his family, friends and acquaintances.
The main room of the museum is Pushkin's study. Every year on February 10, the day of the poet's death, a memorial meeting takes place in the courtyard in which representatives of the scientific and creative intelligentsia and the city administration take part.
The literary-monographic exposition "Life and work of A.S. Pushkin"
The exposition tells about Pushkin as the central figure of the "golden age" of Russian culture. In 17 halls original materials of Pushkin's time are presented: a collection of Pushkin's lifetime images, self-portraits, friendly caricatures, landscapes of the Caucasus, Crimea, Bessarabia, Russian village, Volga region, Orenburg, Siberia, where "penal servitude", "friends, brothers, comrades". The manuscripts presented in copies on the archival paper give an opportunity to touch the mystery of Pushkin's creativity.
Furniture, household items, arts and crafts, the so-called "Pushkin Memorial" (the poet's desk, the ballroom shoes of NN Pushkina, the theater tube, the Valdai bell, the officer's sword) enrich the historical and literary series with vivid and lively details.

Free entrance to all the museums of the complex: February 10 in the Memory Day of Alexander Pushkin, June 6 in Pushkin's Day of Russia and May 18 in the International Museum Day.
