The history of the city begins in the 16th century, when the monastery of Pokrovskaya Antonia desert was located here. The monastery grew, the settlement grew around it, successfully escaping from shocks and problems. How to get there
There are three ways to get to Pokrov from Moscow - on a public bus, by train and on your own car. The last option is the fastest and most convenient one, the trip along the Gorky Highway will take about three hours, and you will not be tied to the timetable.
The trains leave Kursk railway station every 20-30 minutes. The cost of the trip is 197 rubles. The drawback of this method is a long way from the terminal station to the city directly (4 km). From the station in Pokrov there are minibuses (they are sent as they fill out), but they are not tied to the schedule, and their expectation can be delayed.
Buses leave from Kursk railway station or from the bus station from 10:00 to 20:00, they also go by as soon as possible.

Svyato-Vvedensky island monastery
Acting convent, heir to the religious past of the Intercession. The place is quiet, peaceful and beautiful, it is worth coming here for peace and purification. The monastery is not aimed at attracting parishioners, the guests are given minimal attention, and while here, it is worth remembering the strict asceticism of the nuns living here.
Local History Museum
The Museum of Local Lore will tell its visitors the history of the Intercession, every step on its way, every detail that is important for the townspeople. In the same building there is an exposition "The Museum of Chocolate", which tells about the history of chocolate, the family of the founders of the Intercession Factory and the company KKraft Foods, which supports chocolate production in the modern city. There is also a cafe "Shokoladnitsa."

Monument to chocolate
Monument to chocolate in Pokrov - the first monument of sweets in the world, a special modern symbol of the city. Such a gift made the city the leadership of Kraft Foods, arranging a competition among sculptors for this. The Vladimir sculptor Ilya Shanin, who has settled on the streets of the city, won a magic chocolate fairy.
