For the first time in written documents Rasskazovo was mentioned at the end 17th century. At that time it was a village, and only in 1926 received the status of the city. In the 18th and 19th century, Rasskazovo was known for its artisanal production. Knives, stockings, soaps and candles were actively manufactured.
