Kursk-Vostochny International Airport is located 7 km from Kursk. Its airfield is used by civil and military aviation, it is also capable of accepting and releasing international flights.
Until 2010, daily flights to Moscow and regular flights to St. Petersburg and Anapa were made from here. But then the airport of Kursk was closed for repairs, which lasted until autumn 2012. During this time, the Kursk-Vostochny air terminal has been overhauled, a bathroom for disabled persons has been equipped, and an airport hotel has been renovated. To date, the capacity of the terminal is 120 people per hour.
Today the company UTair from here air flights to Moscow, as well as seasonal flights to resort towns - in Anapa, Sochi and Simferopol. Negotiations are also in progress on new popular destinations, for example, on flights to Israel, Egypt and Bulgaria.
